This first article speaks about the author, LeBlanc, as she visits a detention center and discusses the book. The article is on page 20. There are also pictures of Cesar and Jessica's kids on page 21.

This next article is an excerpt that was published in a magazine in 2003, before the book was published. The names of the characters have been changed in the article, but you should be able to identify who they are. Tony is Cesar, Lolli is Coco, and Nina is Mercedes. There are a few pictures of Cesar, Coco and Mercedes here as well. I suspect that the woman with Coco and Cesar, the woman kneeling, is Jessica. There is also a picture of Giselle and her daughter.

After you have looked over the articles and pictures, post a comment letting me know what you think about seeing the characters and reading about Adrian Nicole LeBlanc.

I was glad to see CoCo, Cesar, Mercedes, and the twins pictures it is nice to put faces to the characters in the book. I would like to see Jessica and Boy George. It is great to see the author is still keeping us informed on the characters lives.

I believe these pictures help me visualize the characters better. When I look at these photos it makes me think about what the rest of the characters look like. Professor Sweet, I wish you could find a picture of what Jessica looked like before she went to prison and what she looks like now.
But overall, these articles really made me aware of how the prison inmates health is mistreated by the prison facility. Also, it gave me the heads up about hep.C
I was happy to see the faces of the Coco, Cesar, twins and so on. I really want to see the picture of Jessica as the book started on her. Overoll, I was happy how the author spent 12 years with these characters and actually followed up with there life style. It was really great article and pictures.
I was amazed when I saw coco and mercedes have a resemblance of their face. I doubt the one who is kneeling was Jessica (not sure). But I expect to see more of Jessica's pictures. Well, these photos gave me a flashback of their grown up lives. Also, it is good that the author still informed us of the characters life and that made us see the real image of them.
Visualizing characters in any book is helpful. When I tried creating the scenes of the book in my head, I made the characters animated. I’m use to that method because I have that animation-side to my stories. The story was fictional in my head, but when I saw Coco, Cesar, and Jessica and her twin girls, I pictured them in the scenes. The story became more real and less fictional. Now if I could only see Boy George…
Well it was good to see how the characters look in the real life. It would of been good if they had a picture of all the main characters of the book. Hopefully the lady who was kneeling down was Jessica because it would really be a hard thing to believe. She was described as a really pretty girl that took any mans attentions from their wives and that lady was not anything near that.
I was hoping to one day see pictures of all these character. Since the very begining of the book I have wanted to see Jessica. Although Jessica may not be in the pictures the one kneeling looks like it could be her. Seeing the pictures of these characters make the book overall seem more real. Coco and Cesar both look like as they were described in the book. Cesar is attractive and Coco is short and plumpy as described in the book. Overall seeing the characters is great and makes the book more forfilling
It was very nice that the author informed us about the characters and show us their images. I was amazed to see the resemblance on Mercedes and Coco's faces. All the characters looked great but i wish i could see more of them as well, especially Boy George and Jessica.
Seeing the pictures of the characters help me more see who they look like in real life. When I saw how Caesar looked liked, I had a similar view of how he might have looked like. I never imagined Coco would look the way she looked. What I imagined of her to be more lean and a bit more pretty. I wished there was a picture of Jessica. I would really want to see how she looks like and see if what I imagined of her is similar to the real person. It's really great that the author is still keeping up to date with the characters.
Looking at the pictures of the family, they look like a family that is happy and nver had a trouble life like they had. They all have beautiful girls. It is sad that the girls have to grow up in a family like that. But they look happy.
Hello to all:
First of all its a shame how the people in Random family aren't in as good a position as they should be. We have a beatiful Latino Family that just can't get it together. The artices placed here and the Book, Random Family, aren't that far apart. 1 thing: Its a shame that the author Adrian N. LeBlanc doesn't include pictures of the most intriguing character, Jessica. But none the less, the articles do share Cesar in a better light despite the surroundings. I wish them luck and hope a new start is once again, in their future.
After reading articles and looking at pictures, I see that it can be real rough in the streets. For instance coming up in the ghetto can blind some people who want to do good in life. Once you start hanging around the wrong crowd and picking up bad habits from your family members it could get rough. Thats why i make sure that my get high is not drugs, its school.
i find it funny that the charecters are so conserned about there apearence, and not the problems that hey are facing every day
The pictures made me visualize the characters better then befor. The story was fictional in my head but now i see how real it is.
When I read the article I knew Cesar was in Jail because of drugs and murder but when I seen him in the picture I felt really bad not like when I read. I felt this guy really in prison and gave me clear picture about him and the way he looks. When I seen Jessica’s daughters and Cesar’s daughter I felt horrible that they left young kids behind on the streets with no support. I wish that I see Jassica's picture I think she's beautiful as her kids.
cesar looks like i thought he did streessssssssssssed out
It is a interesting experience seing pictures of some of the characters of Random Family's book. Like others I want to see a picture of Jessica. Those pictures make me reflect about how cruel could be the real life for many people, who are living stepping the line of poverty and how it is the intro to become in a drug consumer or a drug dealer, just to survive. These pictures made aware of the reality of the characters were or are living in these world of poverty and drugs.

The fact that I was able to see pictures of Coco, Cesar Mercedes and the twins, Helps me see them as real people not just a story. Mercedes really looks well developed for her age now I can understand why a woman that she threatens called the police.
The one kneeling down is coco and the two girls are Mercedes and Nautica, their 2 daughters. Cesar is really handsome :) It was great seeing pictures of some if the characters, wish there were more.
